I often think we, as a species, are at our best when we are helping each other. I hope to build a continuing body of work that illustrates human kindness toward one another. The subject matter will be based on a mingling of real life encounters and my imagination, with the hope of creating works capable of inspiring a sense of good will.

Note: The title of this painting is accompanied by the word “Compagno”, which is Italian for companion. This indicates that the painting has a companion piece of either smaller or larger scale. The Compagno is not be confused with a “Study”. These paintings are worked on simultaneously. By working alongside one another as companions, each piece contributes to the creation of a concept. Sometimes the smaller painting is finished first, but just as often the larger painting is completed first.
