Some paintings draw me deeper into a moment in time than others, and it is said that our sense of smell, above all other senses, evokes the strongest memories. I can still recall this day with great clarity. Following the path through a thick cluster of changing autumn leaves, my senses were charged by the season. The air was crisp, still and full of wonder. Beyond the tree line, a distant glow settled upon the landscape announcing evening’s approach.
