Just before the onset of winter this past year, I had the opportunity to walk the property of a small farm in Gunnison Colorado. Changing leaves and a pasture bleached by the sun fueled the seasonal glow of this picturesque rural scene. Peering through an opening in a long stretch of ancient Cottonwood trees, I was delighted to observe a storied landscape trailing off into the distance across the valley floor.
