Walking the alleys of Crested Butte Colorado is an ever changing array of sights, sounds and moments that often present timeless vignettes, suggestive of days gone by to the present day to day lives of those who populate this charming little mountain town. In this scene, yard work never seemed so extraordinary as walls of color rise to meet the heavens as shadows playfully scatter and dance their way across the ground and buildings.
Note: The title of this painting is accompanied by the word “Compagno”, which is Italian for companion. This indicates that the painting has a companion piece of either smaller or larger scale. The Compagno is not be confused with a “Study”. These paintings are worked on simultaneously. By working alongside one another as companions, each piece contributes to the creation of a concept. Sometimes the smaller painting is finished first, but just as often the larger painting is completed first.
